Toyota Boot Space Comparison
If you’re considering purchasing a brand-new car, you might be mulling over certain things, such as what colour paintwork you want, whether you want an SUV or a hatchback and how many seats you need.
One thing people tend to overlook is the boot capacity, as this can affect your lifestyle.
For example, if you have children or an outdoor hobby for example, you might require a larger boot capacity, whereas if you are a sole occupant who simply commutes to a place of work, you may find a compact car with a small boot is quite enough for your needs.
It should go without saying, however, that a compact boot cannot hold as much as a spacious boot, so you should compare the sizes before you narrow down your options.
One thing to note is that larger cars such as SUVs do not automatically mean there is a larger boot capacity.
More often than not, an estate car has a larger boot due to the size and shape of the vehicle. You will notice that estate cars are much longer, so the boot capacity is much larger, making them ideal for those doing long motorway miles.
Toyota Aygo X
The Toyota Aygo X has a boot space of 231 litres, making it ideal for using as a shopper car, as the boot can easily fit your weekly shop or luggage for your weekend away.
The boot space can easily be increased by folding down flat the rear row of seats, allowing you to place oversized cargo into the boot space.
If you are likely to be placing muddy items into the boot, you can take advantage of the additional boot liner accessory which is an anti-slip texture, designed to keep your boot carpet clean and damage free.
Boot Width: 1.52m
Toyota RAV4
The Toyota RAV4 has a boot space of 580 litres, which for a compact SUV is a lot of space and one of the largest capacities in its class.
There are several accessories available to purchase with the Toyota RAV4 including a boot liner which protects the original boot, a dog guard so your four-legged friend can use the boot space as a safe place and bumper protector.
Boot Width: 1.64m
Toyota Highlander
The Toyota Highlander has a boot space of 332 litres, but as it’s a 7-seater SUV, you can really make the most of the space by folding down the seats.
With the rear row of seats folded down (utilising 5 seats), you can take advantage of 865 litres of space, or with the rear and second row of seats folded down (utilising 2 seats), you will have 1,909 litres of space to play with.
The second and rear row of seats fold down flat allowing you to easily slide items into the boot space, without a struggle.
