New Cars Return to Family-Run Dealership as Struans welcomes Mazda to its Dundee Site
A brand-new chapter begins for local family-run car dealership Struans as they welcome Mazda to their Dundee showroom, bringing new car sales back to the site for the first time since 2023.
Struans Mazda Dundee will officially open on Tuesday 3rd November. The expansion follows the success of Struans’ established Mazda dealership in Perth and will see the Dundee site offer New and Approved used Mazda cars and servicing and repairs alongside its existing Autocentre operations.
As Mazda joins Struans in Dundee, the business which has been in operation for over 50 years is building upon its longstanding relationship with the Japanese car manufacturer.
Founded by brothers Struan and John Robertson, Struans began in 1974 when experienced mechanic, Struan established a small holding at Kinfauns, just outside Perth, specialising in the servicing and repair of Volkswagen vehicles. As demand grew, his brother John joined the business, and the pair moved to larger premises on South William Street in 1977.
Over the years the family-run business continued to expand, leading to the development of Struans Motor Village on Crieff Road. Mazda became part of the business in 1981, establishing a strong relationship that has continued for over 40 years and continues to shape Struans’ local offering.
The arrival of Mazda at the Dundee dealership builds on this history, bringing the brand to a new customer base while giving existing customers another local option for new cars and after-sales support.
David Angus, Group Head of Sales, Struans Motors, said: "We’re delighted to be welcoming Mazda to our Dundee site and further strengthening our long-standing relationship with the brand. Having represented Mazda in Perth for 45 years, we have built a reputation for delivering exceptional customer service and excellence, achieving top recognition at the annual Mazda All Stars for customer satisfaction in 2023 and most recently Motability Dealer of the Year in 2026. Our new Dundee site will build on that success, and customers can expect the same high standards and customer-focused approach that we are renowned for.”
David continues, “We have a fantastic team who are looking forward to welcoming both new and existing customers into our new showroom and helping them find the right Mazda for their needs. With an outstanding range of new and Approved Used vehicles, alongside servicing and aftersales support, we're proud to offer a first-class customer experience from our Dundee site. It’s an exciting opportunity to bring Mazda to the site and make the brand accessible to even more customers in the area.”
Commenting on the opening of the new Dundee showroom, Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director at Mazda UK, said: “We’re delighted to see Struans expand its representation for Mazda in Scotland with the opening of the Dundee showroom. We have a long-standing and successful relationship with Struans since 1981, and their commitment to customer service has earned several recognition awards. The team’s values and customer-first mindset align perfectly with Mazda’s, which gives us great confidence in the strength of this partnership continuing to grow together with the new Dundee site.”
The transition is already under way, with Struans working closely with Barnetts Dundee to support existing customers and help ensure a smooth handover. While the dealership will officially open in November, showroom renovations will continue over the coming months.
Operating across Perth and Dundee, Struans represents Mazda, Peugeot and Subaru, alongside its used car, servicing and repair operations. The business has also continued to grow its Leisure Sales and Rental division representing brands including Adria and Etrusco.
In July 2026, Struans Leisure Dundee became the official Tayside dealership for UK-based ACE Motorhomes, part of the Swift Group, further expanding the choice available to customers across the region.
